1. Nature of Platform & Role of Rayntos
Rayntos is a digital coordination, reservation technology, and communications platform operating within Main Pauri, Uttarakhand. Rayntos is an intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act 2000. Rayntos is not a vehicle rental agency, does not own or operate the vehicles listed on the platform, and does not provide motor vehicle insurance.
All vehicle listings belong to independent local vehicle owners or commercial operators. When you reserve a vehicle, you enter into a direct rental relationship with the individual vehicle host, governed by the 18-Clause Rental Undertaking below.
2. Renter Eligibility Requirements
To reserve or operate any two-wheeler listed on Rayntos, you must strictly satisfy all of the following requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must hold a valid, original Permanent Two-Wheeler Driving Licence issued by an Indian Licensing Authority (or international driving permit recognized in India).
- Learner Licences (LL) are strictly prohibited and will be rejected at physical vehicle handover.
- You must provide your physical original driving licence and a matching government photo ID for visual inspection by the host at vehicle pickup.
3. Booking Confirmation Fee & Payment Structure
Rayntos operates a transparent two-part payment model designed to eliminate unnecessary online middleman markups:
3% Booking Confirmation Fee
Paid online to Rayntos via dynamic UPI QR or deep-link at time of reservation. Locks vehicle availability and releases host contact details upon verification.
Rent & Security Deposit
The rental tariff and refundable security deposit (e.g. ₹500) are paid directly to the vehicle host in person at physical handover via cash or host UPI.
Because vehicle hosts in Main Pauri reserve physical inventory and hold the selected time window specifically for your reservation:
- The 3% booking confirmation fee is non-refundable if you cancel your reservation or fail to show up for vehicle pickup.
- Exception: If the vehicle host is unavailable at the designated pickup stand, or fails to provide the reserved vehicle, the 3% booking confirmation fee will be refunded in full (100%) to your original payment UPI VPA. Refer to our Refund Policy for procedure details.
5. In-Person Handover Verification
Rayntos does not verify or hold copies of identity documents. Document verification occurs physically at the vehicle stand in Main Pauri:
- The host will verify your physical driving licence and photo ID before releasing keys.
- Both renter and host conduct a pre-ride physical inspection documenting existing scratches, fuel level, and odometer readings.
- A sanitized, BIS-certified safety helmet is provided with each rental. Wearing a helmet is mandatory under the Motor Vehicles Act.
6. Limitation of Liability
Rayntos facilitates communication between users but is not liable for traffic violations, accidents, third-party injuries, mechanical breakdowns, or property damage during rental periods. The renter assumes full legal, civil, and criminal responsibility for vehicle operation, adherence to Indian traffic regulations, and compliance with the 18-Clause Undertaking below.
7. Standard Two-Wheeler Rental Undertaking (v2.0-2026-09)

Clause 1: Parties and Role of Rayntos
Rayntos is strictly a technology booking and coordination platform. The two-wheeler scooter belongs to an independent, commercially licensed partner rental operator. Rayntos does not own, insure, warrant, or guarantee any vehicle.

Clause 2: Eligibility, Document Authenticity & Handover Verification
The Renter explicitly warrants that they are at least 18 years of age, possess a valid, non-expired permanent Driving Licence (DL) authorizing the operation of two-wheelers in India (learners licences are strictly inadmissible), and that all submitted identification credentials are authentic. I acknowledge that document verification (driving licence and ID) is carried out by the vehicle owner at handover, not by Rayntos. Providing fraudulent declarations constitutes immediate termination, total forfeiture of fees, and referral to law enforcement.

Clause 3: Personal Use Only & Prohibited Uses
The vehicle is leased solely for lawful personal transport within authorized geographic bounds. Sub-renting, commercial delivery services, courier transport, racing, stunts, burnouts, off-roading, and towing other vehicles are strictly prohibited.

Clause 4: Authorized Rider and Mandatory Helmet
Only the authorized renter who has confirmed their self-declaration and executed this undertaking is legally authorized to ride the vehicle. Permitting any third party to ride is a material breach resulting in full personal liability. The rider and pillion must wear a BIS-certified helmet at all times and adhere strictly to the Motor Vehicles Act.

Clause 5: Traffic Violations and Challans
All e-challans, speed camera penalties, parking citations, and traffic fines incurred between physical handover and verified return are the sole financial responsibility of the renter, together with an administrative handling fee of ₹150 per violation.

Clause 6: Accident, Injury and FIR Obligations
In any accident: (a) Immediately halt, ensure safety, and call emergency services (112) if anyone is injured. (b) Notify Rayntos support within 30 minutes. (c) Do not admit liability or settle privately. (d) Renter must promptly register a formal Police FIR in cases of collision, third-party damage, injury, or theft, furnishing a signed copy within 24 hours. (e) Renter is 100% financially liable for any damage, loss, or third-party liabilities arising from negligent riding, unlicenced operation, or riding under the influence.

Clause 7: Zero Tolerance for Intoxication
Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or psychotropic substances is strictly zero tolerance. Any breach voids all insurance cover, triggers instant impoundment, forfeits all deposits, and renders the renter personally liable for all damages and criminal prosecution.

Clause 8: Theft, Loss and Key Custody
The renter must maintain physical custody of the keys and park the vehicle in safe, well-lit spaces. Loss of keys incurs a ₹1,200 replacement fee. In case of theft, report to police and Rayntos within 1 hour. Negligent loss or failure to lock subjects the renter to recovery costs up to the declared vehicle value.

Clause 9: Damage Assessment and Mechanic Estimates
Vehicle condition is established via timestamped photographic checklists at pickup and return. Any new damage, scratches, dents, or mechanical faults will be billed strictly according to genuine authorized mechanic estimates shown transparently to the renter.

Clause 10: Security Deposit and Deductions
The refundable security deposit is held to offset fuel deficit, traffic challans, minor damages, or overdue fees. Unencumbered deposits are released back to the original source within 3 working days following verified return.

Clause 11: Payment Terms (Booking Confirmation Fee and Direct Rental Settlement)
A non-refundable booking confirmation fee (3% of the matched rate band) is payable directly to Rayntos to confirm the booking reservation. The scooter rental charges and refundable security deposit are payable by the renter directly to the vehicle owner at physical handover. Rayntos never collects, holds, or forwards rental or deposit amounts.

Clause 12: Late Return Policy and Automatic Block Charges
A 30-minute grace period applies past the scheduled return time. Thereafter, late fees accrue at the 12-hour block rate for every started 12-hour period until physical return is verified by the operator/admin. The renter may pause the meter by clicking "I have returned" and submitting a timestamped photo.

Clause 13: Fuel, Range and Usage Boundaries
For petrol scooters, the renter must return the vehicle with fuel equal to or greater than the pickup level; shortfalls are billed at standard fuel prices plus ₹100 service charge. For EVs, return with at least 20% state of charge.

Clause 14: GPS Tracking and Location Consent
The renter explicitly consents to telematics and GPS location monitoring solely during the active rental window for vehicle security, recovery in suspected theft, and roadside assistance. Continuous monitoring terminates upon verified rental completion.

Clause 15: Right to Repossession and Termination
Rayntos and the partner operator reserve the unconditional right to remotely immobilize or repossess the vehicle without notice if breach of terms, reckless driving, illegal activity, or non-responsiveness occurs.

Clause 16: Limitation of Platform Liability
Rayntos is not an insurer, vehicle manufacturer, or direct carrier. To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, Rayntos aggregate liability for any direct claim shall not exceed the platform convenience fee earned on the booking.

Clause 17: DPDP Data Privacy Consent
Renter consents to the processing of personal account and booking transaction details solely for booking coordination, legal compliance, and claims investigation under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023. Rayntos does not collect or store physical identity documents or photographs on its servers.

Clause 18: Dispute Resolution, Jurisdiction and Language
This undertaking is governed by the laws of India. Any irreconcilable dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the city where the partner operator is registered. In case of interpretation variance, the English text prevails.

8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and the Rental Undertaking shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the platform or vehicle reservations shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
